Emotional Support

Unfortunately our counselling service is unavailable at the moment but efforts are being made to secure a future service. Please come back for more details later in 2017

What is counselling?

Counselling offers the opportunity to work through some of your feelings as well as gaining support. It may help you consider new ways of adapting to sight loss.

A counsellor is trained to listen with empathy (by putting themselves in your shoes). They can help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings you have.

Who is counselling for?

Counselling can be beneficial to many types of people, those experiencing bereavement or loss, past or current abusive experiences, anxiety and / or depression, those wanting to improve self-esteem and confidence, and those who may be experiencing relationship issues or difficult family histories. The benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, improved interpersonal relationships and self-confidence.

Is everything confidential?

Our service is confidential the only exception to this rule would be if we had very serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others.
