Windermere Manor Hotel RNIB Connect weekend 10, 11,12 March

Peter Bennetts , RNIB Trustee , is organising an RNIB Connect weekend at the Windermere Manor Hotel on 10, 11 and 12 March.  The cost is £139 per person to include dinner bed and breakfast.  There will be drinks on arrival, wine tasting on Friday evening, entertainment on Saturday evening and karaoke on Sunday evening.


During the day on Saturday Peter is hoping to arrange some Connect sessions.  What is Connect?  How can we Connect more effectively?  What do we want from Connect and what can we put in?

Peter also hopes that coach transport can be arranged from Newcastle on Friday 10 March to Windermere and return on Monday 13 March from Windermere to Newcastle at a cost of £25.  This should also be booked with the hotel direct.

Itinerary for the Northern Alliance Ushers and RP Group meeting.

1: Arrive and meet Lyn and Lewis, sign in and let us find out who you are, where you come from and more importantly now you’ve found us let’s keep in touch.

2: Purchase you raffle tickets from the lovely rafflettes, they will come round and meet you. Many great prizes to be won……keyring torches, bluetooth speaker, massager, battery chargers and a kindle and many more. All money raised goes towards next raffle.

3: Take a seat and let me talk a little about the group and what’s been happening over the last few months.

4: Let’s meet our first guest Mr Gavin Neate from Neatebox with his fabulous invention which assists the disabled to use traffic lights with ease.

5: Meet our second guest, our very good friend the wonderfully talented Miss Molly Watt here to tell us about the latest technology to enhance the deafblind world.

6: Take a break, have the raffle, a wee drink and grab a bite to eat.

7: Our scientists are back for a question and answer session, always a pleasure to hear the latest scientific news about RP. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

8: Time for a game of Pitch and Toss. Coins nearest the bottle wins! Stawner is still the man to beat, how does he keep it up!!

9: We welcome Ian Treherne to give us a brief talk. Ian recently appeared on Channel 4’s The Undateables, a true inspiration.

10: Now for a treat, relax, clap, cheer and sing along, we have Ian on guitar and the lovely Erin will sing along too so please join in……
